The Temptations at the Fillmore 1966 [ Back to Gallery ]

The Temptations at the peak of their success playing at the Fillmore. Charles Sullivan was the actual promoter of the show and was allowing Bill Graham use of the Fillmore at the time for other shows.. Bill being the ultimate promoter did posters in both psychedelic and boxing style posters for the Sullivan and famous black artist shows, such as this one used to attract the traditional black audience at the Fillmore while psychedelic styled posters were used to attract the younger hippie movement occuring in the City.

Such boxing style Fiillmore posters exist for Otis Redding, Little Richard, Martha and the Vedella, The Temptations, Ike and Tina Turner and Count Basie for the Fillmore venue.
